Costs of 2 months' stay or longer with voluntary work:

• Costs of participation: ˆ 300.
• Board and lodging and organisation in Ghana: ˆ 150 per month. From the fourth month onwards: ˆ 100 per month.
• If necessary for the desired activities: an interpreter/guide: ca ˆ 2 per day.
• Optional pick-up service on arrival at the airport and stay in Accra (2 nights and all meals): ˆ 50.

In the costs are included:

• Information booklet with a lot of information about the culture and customs in Ghana.
• Extensive practical information on preparation, visa, money, journey, etc.
• 4 orientation days in Ghana before you go to your host family and start your voluntary work.
• Board and lodging with a host family (private room).
• Help and assistance in Tamale; among other things, this includes a bi-weekly meeting and assistance in case of illness or other problems.

The costs of an airplane ticket, visa, insurance, vaccinations and pocket money (indication: ˆ 25-50 per week) are not included and depend on the airlines you choose and your further personal needs.

• Board, lodging and organisation in Ghana: ˆ 75 per person per week.
• If necessary for the desired activities; an interpreter/guide: approx. ˆ 2 per day.

Where does the money go?

"Cregdes" keeps the costs in Italy as low as possible. The larger part of the money we spend in Ghana because we aim at a fair price for services rendered (Fair Trade Principle). With the money paid in Ghana "Cregdes" Ghana organises everything necessary for your stay. Apart from this, the host family of course receives money for board and lodging and poorer families are supported to enable them to receive staying guests. We aim at hosting as many people as possible with families in the villages because they need the extra income most. In this way, by staying with them, you also support the local population who often experience difficulties obtaining a reasonable income.
We have also started the "Cregdes" fund. With this fund we support the socially underprivileged. "Cregdes" gives part of its income to this fund. In 2006 this amounted to more than 11% of our total income. You are more than welcome to make an extra donation to this fund. For more information see: The "Cregdes" funds and donations.
